SSD value for money?

I intend to purchase a Intel NUC which will have only one drive, a SSD, which I must install. My current HD has only 50 GB on it.
I think a 64GB SDD will handle my storage needs but I don't have a clue about performance except it apparently won't last as long as say a 128 SSD.
Will I notice any major decrease in speed with the cheaper drive?
TIA

You want to keep ~40% space free. So I'd go for a 90-100Gb drive.

Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.
