[Cable] Woodstock cable

Can those of you in Woodstock chime in with your speeds in the evenings? It's funny how in the AM a speedtest to Teksavvy yields about 45Mbps - 50Mbps down and 1Mbps up and after 8:00 pm my speed drops to 15Mbps down and 1Mbps up. Can't be congestion as I'm told that the Woodstock POI is the least congested of all. Has any other Teksavvy cable customer in the Woodstock area experienced this?

A useful thing to consider with the slow downs and congestion is to run a traceroute to various servers that you're experiencing that are slow. This will often show you the exact point in which is slow, which will help to determine the exact root cause and where the problem areas are.

What you're experiencing is node congestion, which is where there are too many users on the same node as you and because of that during the peak period your speed will drop.

The only way for this to get fixed is to wait for enough users that are getting service directly from Rogers to call in and complain and than Rogers will get around to doing a node split.

So far I'm not seeing a reason for the slow speeds. If it's node congestion then TSI should be able to tell me that. So far, the only thing that's happened is a tech visit and all he did was run the direct line thru a splitter (-7dB) and then to the modem.

Must be some serious node congestion tonight since I'm only hitting 18Mbps to Tek.
