My relatives in the New England area have changed. The arrogance has gone. They actually speak of Canada not as a 2nd class country like they used, not as an equal but to my amazement they now speak of Canada with a respect I never ever expected to hear.
One family has taken their banking business to TD Bank's USA operation. TD Banknorth I think it's called. They feel TD would run their American operation they way it operates in Canada. They have lost faith in the American banking system.
They ask me questions about our healthcare system all the time.
The last 5 years have really opened their eyes. I think it has shaken many to their cores. One of the mothers is SO happy she applied for dual citizenship for her 2 sons when they were born.
