OP states:

I currently am a Charter internet only customer.

So why is every critic of the OP focusing on AT&T U-verse TP bundle prices? AT&T offers $14.95 promos for those unwilling to pay exorbitant fees for 30+ Mbps.

Good for you; but the OP declares he is willing to accept AT&T Basic speeds. Per your list, for dry loop ("Direct"), just $19. As compared with the $47 he is currently paying Charter, or the $49 offer to upgrade to 30/4 service. AT&T certainly looks cheaper from where I sit.

BTW, I have no dog in this brouhaha. I have ADSL2+ from Sonic.net, LLC (15 Mbps for $19.98); having kicked AT&T to the curb over their caps. And Comcast wants about $50 for their basic tier; even their lowest, "Economy", tier is not cheaper than the comparable AT&T tier.
