LarryE join:2000-07-29 Chicago, IL kudos:1 | 1Gbps to 10Gbps residential service? In a discussion with someone in the Philadelphia area stating that they have 1Gbps residential service. They have an Arris Telephony modem which I check and is only Docsis 2.0 complaint. He also says that 10Gbps residential service is available.
True or not true.
Thanks in advance. |

Comcast has a residential 305 Mbps Metro Ethernet package (FTTP) in regions served by Verizon FiOS; but not for less than $100 a month. The only 1 Gbps Internet seems to be Google fiber in KCMO/KA, and assorted smaller fiber deployments, such as Paxio in Santa Clara, CA and Sonic.net, LLC in Sebastopol, CA; and similar small operations. These being true FTTP, not HFC-style FTTN. -- Norman ~Oh Lord, why have you come ~To Konnyu, with the Lion and the Drum |

Thanks for all your comments. |
