Thx An electrician will charge you regardless if there is anything wrong. And if it's not on your side of your meter, all he's going to do is call the power company on your behalf.
The power company is obligated usually to at least check it out for free and repair anything that they are responsible for. |

Since nothing has blown up yet I'd hold off on calling an electrician and do what bluechalk suggested. Get a Kill-A-Watt. It is a handy little device for all sorts of stuff and will tell you right away if you have a problem.
