Re: Unlimited Internet option on Rogers for a limited time said by elec999:Sorry to kickin,,, was anyone able to get a good deal not $30 with only internet service? Only way is to get a retention discount added and then the $30 unlimited so it works out to $10, but it all depends on the willingness of the rep. Its worth a try. |

That's not how retention discounts work for residential services. For residential, retention deals offer a certain percentage off certain tiers of service, and rental equipment. These deals are set in stone, and the rep basically selects the best offer based on the customer's eligibility. If there are no offers in the list that discounts the product that the customer wants or by the amount that the customer wants, then everyone is SOL. |

There is no promo code for unlimited, it's a completely separate internet tier with no usage cap. It will work with any existing promotion, but any percentage based discounts will discount based on the price of the capped tier. |

Cosmok join:2010-03-31 Ottawa, ON | reply to technocar2 I signed up for unlimited internet yesterday. I have cable, internet and wireless, all with Rogers. My Rogers bill is in excess of $200 a month. I asked for the $10 unlimited but I was told I don't qualify because I don't have Rogers home phone. I ended up having to pay $30 and I downgraded my internet package to make up the difference.
I could have threatened to cancel my service unless I got the $10 deal but somehow I don't think that it would have worked. It is like arguing about prices with the person working the cash register at Wal-mart. They just push the buttons, they don't set the prices. |

I called today and the rep could not tell me if my 70% discount would apply to the $30 dollars. If I am reading correctly to your post, the $30 dollars cannot be discounted 70% for $9.00?. |

To be clear this is not a $30 add on for unlimited. These are completely different tiers that offer you unlimited usage. If you sign up you will have one line item on your bill. For example if you have Express it will say Express $81.99 not Express $51.99 and Unlimited Usage Add on $30. However, if you have discounts, it will discount based on the capped tier, so you will see Express $81.99 and then a $36.40 discount (70%) not a $57.40 discount. |
