1 edit | RESOLVED! [INTERNET] Cogeco Speed Test Gonzo? Is the Cogeco Speed Test no longer available? »speedtest.cogeco.net/
Or perhaps it is just down for 'maintenance'; perhaps it needed some work to handle all the new higher cable speeds?
Just wondering... |

1 edit | Yeah, it's back for me now.
I was getting "Firefox can't find the server at speedtest.cogeco.net" for several tries, over about 15 minutes.
I should know better to wait longer, and then try again!
edit...
BTW, is there an upper speed cap on the Cogeco test? Will it handle a Rogers user on 150/10, with speedboost kicking things up even higher? |

 | reply to WarningU2 It might work now but it was definitely down last week.
I called Cogeco about a performance issue and asked them if they killed speedtest.cogeco.net and the response I received from business support was, "speedtest.cogeco.net is speedtest.net".
Uh, okay. That didn't exactly answer my question but... okay. |

I wonder if this Cogeco test is really ready for the higher speeds. I just asked someone in the Start forum, on 60/2, to try it, and his DL speed showed at 21M, whereas speedtest.net showed him over 60M.
A few weeks back in CdnBB, somone on Bell FTTH, using speedtest.net, was getting 170M+ from Comcast and Toronto Nexicom, but only showed 32M from this Cogeco test.
edit1: It still works fine for me on 6M DSL, and I always trusted this test more than the speedtest.net tests! |
