Re: Mech Warrior Online

I've been leery of posting because well, I have bad memories of doing earthlink/Spring/Embarq tech support on this forum in a company sanctioned environment.

That said, MWO trumps that :P

You guys came in at a good time. Most of the crappy bugs have been ironed out, there's still some general wonkiness but it's pretty sorted now. The devs are doing meaningful fixes every two weeks and content is coming at a steady rate. We'll see the first beginnings per their timeline of community warfare (faction vs faction) mid-end of April.

Side note: I'm FRR. I convinced arch to go FRR. FRR in a nutshell - Non-douchy space vikings who actually run a representative government vs most of the fascist/aristocratic garbage of the rest of the IS.

We also can plan on getting our butts kicked the worst by the clans, which are due to invade in Nov/Dec. Good news though - that should mean early access to clan tech which is OVERWHELMINGLY awesome.

A little about me:
Long time RL friend of Arch. Ask him sometime about where the name comes from :P
Huge long time mw/BT geek.

I haven't opened up applications but if you want to join, are over 25, and generally on nights hit me up. Note: It *WILL* require a faction switch to the FRR. Read up on them at sarna.net if you're interested.

Unfortunately, I'm not as much of a mech warrior geek as the rest of the folks. I do know that the people who are making this game are trying to stick very heavily to the storyline and I know that Gevurah is trying to build up a tight knit group of mechs to do the same.

I don't know if I shared this with Gevurah, but when we migrate to a game and set up a guild/clan/etc, we call it Aftershock. It isn't because we force that on anyone, but rather the tags that people used before were BBR or DSLR to represent the clan name and it just sounded weird to represent digital subscriber lines to people who didn't understand what it was about. Aftershock was more of a generic name that didn't sound weird.

For some games, a community site is set up. For the lesser games, there aren't. Basically, what I'm saying is that since Gevurah set this up and I've known him for nearly 15 years, there's no reason to carve out an Aftershock here. Whenever it allows us to, we can set up with the 1st Hussars officially for our group to join.

Awesome,

I'm hoping they bring the Madcat and Wolverine into the game at some point. Those were always some of my favorite mechs.

Will we be allowed to joint :P
