Who developed the FiOS In Home Agent?

Trying to figure out if the FiOS "In Home Agent" for Windows was developed by Verizon or some third party. It seems to works pretty well, at least with Windows 7.

IN-Home Agent is a real slow-poke with XP on my HP desktop. Takes a long time to start and doesn't work that fast when running.

Two quote(s) from Verizon.com -> Support -> Community -> Residential Products and Services -> FiOS Internet -> Verizon In Home Agent runs on my system (MAC OSX) but does nothing. Why not

a)
quote:
i like the online version of the app at www.verizon.com/repair

you can do a lot of the functions of the app without all the bloatware.

b)
quote:
As other have said it does something, it waste resources. Not sure on the MAC, but on PC's it has been none to drive at least one cpu to 100% (If you only have one its really bad). And the number of functions it does that you might ever want to do is minimal.
Personally I recommend that you uninstall it, and make sure you get all pieces of it.
