Re: [Parts Check] Quickest failure?

My ASUS Maximus V Formula won't recognize any ram. Does a DOA count for fastest error? I am pissed.

Wow, 2 x RMA's, that would be frustrating.

Second Maximus V Formula is DOA from Microcenter--all the other components are known to be working, but this one won't pass the first POST.

I am very surprised this from 2 Asus boards - they are the first boards I look at when looking at motherboards.

Maybe the bios needs to be updated? Some folks at Newegg have to set the ram speeds manually...

I'm not in the very least. That is the very reasons I stopped using Asus boards is that I kept getting dead ones, they would malfunction, or die shortly after being installed.

Yup, two in a row were bad. One with a dead memory channel, the other just plain ole DOA. Third one is good (so far).

I don't think I have ever had one break on me but my wife's Asus board may have a bad ram slot - not sure though. Only showed up after over 3 years of running 24x7...
