If your going to use McAfee disable the Windows Defender service. Personally I use Windows Defender on my Windows 8 laptop. I have not used a third party anti-malware program on any of my Windows machines since Vista when I used the free AVG. |

Be warned about free AV, they like to throw in an ad or two. So is Avast but you need to register every year.
Not all AV are alike!

Free to consumer is different then free to a ISP. But I do wonder if any of the Big ISP have gone to Avast and AVG and asked. |
