Re: [Parts Check] Looking For Mobo

Give us your remaining budget and intended uses and we can certainly help with that.

Well, I'd like to keep the mobo to about $150, case about the same, and $200 for vid card.

Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.

Yep, I was already leaning toward the 7870. The stats on it are pretty impressive for that price point.

I've got the MSI Z77 board on my wish list... do you think there would be enough head room on the Thor case to fit the H110 above it?

Should be, I mounted mine slightly offcenter so I could thread the psu power cable to the top of the mobo--see: »Re: Putting together my upgrade and the budget is in...

Now here's a case that's kind of odd. Not sure I like the I/O panel under the top of the case.

That's pretty cool, as long as you don't mind the cables coming out the top.

I've tried to think in my practical life how I would profit from all the connectors being on top. I've never been a fan of the I/O's being in the back and have thought about how to side mount them for easier access. My bet is probably in the not too distant future it will become irrelevant.
