FlashfoxEco-Text -- Why print E-mails? join:2003-10-01 Melbourne, FL | BH-TV on Nexus 7? Any reason why I can have the BH TV application on my Samsung Galaxy Tab2 7", on my Nexus 4 phone but not on my Nexus 7 tablet? |

FlashfoxEco-Text -- Why print E-mails? join:2003-10-01 Melbourne, FL | Hmm... that doesn't jive Gary. Both my stock Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 share the same JB rev (4.2.2) and neither have uSD card slots. Seems to me that if BHTV is supported on the Nexus 4 then it should also be on the Nexus 7 (sigh)
As I gave away my Samsung Galaxy Tab2 to a cousin, I have now lost BHTV on my tablet. No big deal but it does make me wonder... |

 | reply to Flashfox Good question. Why is the BHN TV app not compatible with a Nexus 7? I also have a Nexus 7, and it is frustrating that the app "isn't compatible". The device is not rooted, so there should not be any DRM issues.
Maybe Gary can help us out with this question... |

BHNtechXpertBHN StaffPremium,VIP join:2006-02-16 Saint Petersburg, FL kudos:74 | reply to Flashfox Guys not every device is going to be supported. No single flavor of Android is truly pure and proper...each MFR doctors it a bit for their device which makes it very difficult App devs that have significant restrictions placed on them for such things as I said earlier...DRM. |

FlashfoxEco-Text -- Why print E-mails? join:2003-10-01 Melbourne, FL | I understand DRM, but both devices are "Nexus" models, which means they are blessed by Google.
The DRM issue was tied to the uSD cards and as the Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 don't have any, the issue is moot (come to think of it, the Samsung Galaxy Tab2 had a uSD slot). So if Google Play and other similar services permit rental of streaming video then they are content with the security.
In any event, I cannot change anything and until someone at BHN decides to support the Nexus 7, it will be as it is (sigh). I know that some have "side loaded" the APK but I will simply ignore BHTV for now.
Nuff "e-ink" spilled on this subject... back to our regular programming |

BHNtechXpertBHN StaffPremium,VIP join:2006-02-16 Saint Petersburg, FL kudos:74 | reply to Flashfox That's not the case....blessed by Google or Netflix or whatever is meaningless. Google for one does not tightly regulate Android flavors and Netflix or any other streaming App well that's an entirely different story altogether. |

 FlashfoxEco-Text -- Why print E-mails? join:2003-10-01 Melbourne, FL | Good points Gary
I was just a bit frustrated but I really have no one else to blame but myself as I did not check to see if the Nexus 7 was supported before the swap. In any event, it's not a big issue and perhaps one day the N7 will be supported... or I would have outgrown the N7 and migrated elsewhere (I seem to change tablets every 3-4 months and phones every 6 months. My family loves this as they inherit my "old toys" LOL) |

|
 | reply to Flashfox of course it is, I own a n7 and the bh tv app works well, just download the bh app somewhere else instead of google play, google search it, download the APK file and install. done. you welcome. |

| reply to Flashfox Biggest thing I hate about android apps, they have to be enabled by the software manufacturer specifically. It is possible there is a "blanket enable" button for those simple apps that are not likely to break on the many different androids out there, but anyone releasing an A/V app would save a ton of customer service complaints by enabling tested hardware only. Thus for what ever reason, bright houses app support has not tested the nexus 7 yet.
There are many threads on other sites related to the brighthouse and time warner apps and rooted devices. From the looks of it, it wasn't going well for them, but I think if you dig around you can find the brighthouse app you can install that would work fine on unrooted devices. |

dbug @altechnologies.com | reply to Flashfox I was able to sideload and use the original version, but now ver 2.0 will not work on my nexus 7. So, where can we get an older version of the app? |

 | reply to Flashfox This is total BS.
No reason for BHTV to NOT work on the Nexus 7, while it DOES on the Nexus 10. Probably an inside deal between BH and Apple.
If Verizon FIOS were available here, I'd dump BH in a heartbeat. |
