Clash of Clans
I was a little surprised that a search for "Clash of Clans" in this forum got zero hits. So then I thought, maybe it is in the console games forum, but no hits there either. Where do we discuss app games, are they PC or Console?
Seem more PC'ish to me for some reason, but maybe not.
Ok so now I see the mods prefer that apps be discussed in the console/handheld forum.
So to the point of this thread: any of you tried this app yet? It's dangerously addictive. I say dangerous because it would be so easy to blow loads of real life cash quickly. In fact, in an interview I listened to with the world number 1 (I think his name was Jeorge Yao iirc) he admitted to spending $250/week on the game.
I personally find it to be a very different game for me, not because of the genre, but because the biggest thing it seems to test is my ability to be patient. I'm an inpatient person, so having to wait for 3 days to upgrade my archers from level 3 to 4 is torture. It makes it very tempting to spend real money to speed that up.
But I've been resisting those urges and that results in a game experience that basically looks like this:
Log in, check to see if I have full spells and troops, if so do an attack (about 3min), get my trophies, start training replacement troops and brewing replacement spells, log out. A total of 5 min of game time.
Wait an hour for those ques to be done, log in again and repeat.
That sounds really boring, but its actually more fun than I made it sound. And it's also "background enough" that I don't mind checking in on it while I am at work, or while watching TV with the wife.
