Problem is not many computers could handle that much bandwidth throughput. With that much data you're going to push the very limits of the hardware architecture (motherboard, hd read/write speed, bus speed, etc.).

My girlfriends computer in her dorm room slows down a lot when I download Linux ISO's at a blazing 6Mb/s Keystrokes and mouse movement are delayed at that download rate. Her computer is fast too, ECS K7S5A 1.33TBird, 512MB PC2100.
