ouch. i'm not quite there yet, but my connection is certainly getting there. i used to have one of the first cable connections in the neighborhood... and i was getting unbelievable speeds... downstream at least. 3.8m, 4.5m... it was all good... but now i have the absolute lowest in colorado. partly because i have an ignorant little kid with a crappy computer (FULL of spyware and all kinds of aweful stuff) that eats up 98 percent of my bandwidth... i was at 16/2 when his computer was on... but after i banned his box from my network, i still only get 1300/120 on a good day. actually i think that's the highest it's been in months.
i'm not paying for a damn ISDN here. give me real speed, and damnit, give me some real upstream. it's too bad i'm like 7 miles away from USWest's CO (or Qwest i guess.) and DSL of any considerable speed is over 150 bucks... or i;d switch in a heartbeat. |

I currently have Adelphia "power link" and over the past few days have seen my speeds cut by over 60%. Just last week I was at 52 to 54 times the speed of 56k now I'm at 13 to 23. So as I was browsing the site I read this article and the posts. Then I went to Adelphia's site and went to check the network status. In about 75% of the states listed there are status tickets for slow connection and of course no connection. I hope something good comes of this lawsuit for everyone that is paying for this so called service. |

Adelphia? Weren't you and I just discussing these guys in another posting several days ago and for the very conceptual reasons that they are now being sued? How insightful and prophetic our comments were! |

Oops. My bad. I thought I had it right the first time. Gotta be careful with these states that mention death right_there_on_the_license_plate OR in the state motto...They'll mess you up. -- Timid men prefer the calm of despotism to the boisterous sea of liberty. -T.Jefferson |

Class action suit ALL the got-your-money-now-go-f*ck-yourselves uncaring, non-performing DSL bastards. This is a step in the right direction.Let's hope it snowballs. |

| reply to mags2 It's not a problem of occasional performance issues but of long-term repeated problems and a failure to act appropriately upon them. Adelphia has long been wanting to be a bigtime player but isn't willing to put in the effort to provide decent service. I wish these people luck with their actions; no one deserves to be sued more than Adelphia. |

| This latest class action lawsuit in the Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death state may very well set the legal precedent that all broadband providers in this country may have to follow. Everyone on this forum at one time or another has experienced piss poor performance from their respective ISP no matter how much they claim it rocks. One only need check the forums for proof. This lawsuit is a step in the right direction for broadband consumers.
