107 service and new modem

I have the SB6120 modem which supports a max of 4 bonded channels. I need a modem that supports 8 to get the 107 service, right?

4-channels can theoretically support up to around ~150 Mpbs.

Here's the specs on the 6120: »www1.arrisi.com/Video-Solutions/···20_US-EN

Looks to me like it will handle it.

Is there anyway to know if my area supports the bonding of 8 channels? I would really like that for a little more of a failsafe.

6120 can do 107. If your 4 channels will support it could be a different story, but the modem can.

I have a 6180, which will do 8 channels down and 4 up. I picked it up off amazon some time ago, for a good price.

Sadly, my area doesn't offer either 107 or 8 channel bonding yet.

IMO, 107 is very much not worth the doubling of price over 50 megs (in my market atleast) considering that the cap doesn't increase and the upstream is 5 megs, which is on par with many companies upstream in the 25 meg down range >.>

I really don't feel like you're missing much gator, lol

The last time I checked, although now prices on bill are combined, and not separate, I was paying $80 for 50/3. My understanding is people get 107/5 for that.

107 was quoted at $124 for me, lol. If I could get it for 80, I'd probably hop on it since that's close to what I'm paying already. Funny that just across the river in Comcast land, I could get 105/25, lol

Wow! That can't be right. It's 107 speed for 107 per month.

and i thought Canadian internet providers were a rip off, i pay 90$ a month for 100/5 on 8DS/4US channels, comes out just to $100.80 after tax, 125+ tax for 100 down would be painful.... my isp does 250/15 for $120.. not available in my area yet tho as they use 12 channels on the cmts were 250 is avail. its crazy how some providers have giant price jumps on there highest teir

I think they just have a big price wheel, that they all gather around, and snicker, when they decide how much to charge for a service... "Spin...... Come on big money come on big money...."

If you think that's funny for 107, according to the price change list on the back of my bill last month, the 50/2 is supposed to be 10 bucks less, $114/month. $10 to double the service?..... yeah, big price wheel engaged.
