Oops... got ISDL and ISDN confused the first time around: ISDL should be OK, but not so ISDN and dialup...
"Dear Customer,
As you know, MegaPath Networks Inc. purchased the assets of Phoenix Networks in October of this year. Because MegaPath specializes in serving the business customer, we have been looking for alternate providers for our dialup and ISDN customers.
We regret that we can no longer support dialup and ISDN lines. For this reason, we are notifying you that all dialup and ISDN accounts will be terminated on December 31, 2000.
We apologize for any inconvenience and hope that circumstances will allow us to serve you in the future.
This change does NOT affect your DSL service. If you have questions regarding your DSL service, please visit www.phoenixdsl.com (for residential DSL) or www.megapath.net (for business DSL).
Sincerely,
Harry M. Taxin Chief Executive Officer MegaPath Networks Inc."
Nice guys... 4 days notice, and just *one* business day.

I was worried about the same thing. The following is a quote from their web site:
"If you are receiving IDSL service, you will keep your current modem. However, you will receive detailed information on switching your email and domain names. "
I called to verify and was told the same thing. The transition should be (HA!) virtually transparent. I don't know what happens to some of the features on their web site that require the "Velocity Engine" but since I've existed on the net for 7 or 8 years without it, I'll do just fine.
BTW-I was quoted $49.95 for the service, the same as the ADSL for the Philadelphia area Ron | |
