Re: Telocity takes over Phoenix Residential (real)

I did have PhoenixDSL service in the Bay Area, California, with a dedicated line provided by Northpoint for $39.99 a month. The last time I called the local telco, PacBell, about the cost of a copper line, they gave me a price of around $11.00 a month with no phone service (it may be less now).

IMHO, Telocity will either absorb this monthly cost (I doubt it), or they will pass it on to us. Telocity might also maintain these lines for a little while and then "transition" eveyone to a shared voice line. Shared lines are not the greatest thing. I have friends who recently dropped their Earthlink/PacBell shared DSL line because of the reduced quality of their telephone audio.
