[Firmware] SB6141 Download Speed IssueHey Guys - Just provisioned/activated a new retail Motorola SB6141 last night, replacing a SB6121. I had purchased the 6141 when I was attempting to diagnose constant disconnects, but it turned out to be something wrong with both the drop to my house and then some problem up the main from me. (Huge shout out to the awesome techs in my area for promptly correcting everything!) Turns out a co-worker just switched to Comcast and needed a D3 modem, so I figured I'd switch to the SB6141 (4 extra downstream can't hurt, right?) and sell him the 6121 cheap. Everything was working fine with the 6141 yesterday and into today till earlier when I realized my remote connection was laggggggy! That's when my speed-test came back with this: » www.speedtest.net/result ··· 6367.pngMy normal DL speeds are always around 120. Seems like a known issue with 6141 judging by some other posts, so does anyone have advice? I IM'd netcool to see if he'd have any insight since he seems to be the awesome-sauce of 'cast engineers! For reference: Location: Blue Ridge, VA (24064) Comcast Package: Blast+ (Was 50 down, about 2 months ago they flipped the switch to 105 down) Here's a snapshot of my current signal levels, this is post new drop from my tap and them fixing the issue up the main from me, so they're pretty darn good now!: » i.imgur.com/ToOcYIF.jpgLooks like netcool got me the new Firmware. Saw my modem reboot and checked the logs. I'm now on: Model Name: SB6141 Vendor Name: Motorola Firmware Name: SB_KOMODO-1.0.6.14-SCM01-NOSH Boot Version: PSPU-Boot(25CLK) 1.0.12.18m3 Hardware Version: 7.0 Serial Number: **** Firmware Build Time: Mar 6 2014 15:23:55 He didn't respond to my IM, but I'd assume it was him that did it. Unfortunately though, even after a few reboots, my DL is still horrid. It'll have to wait till I'm home from work for further diags. |

I'm having the same issue with my SB6141. My speeds look almost exactly like yours--a hard stop at around 3-4 Mbps and about 11-12 Mbps up.
Definitely seems like an inherent issue with the SB6141. |

Long time lurker and finally signed up to the forums to post this. I too am having download speed issues right now with my SB6141. I initially thought it was a signal issue coming into the house but after reading these forums it seems to be the same firmware problems most are having. If I restart the modem it seems to bounce back to around 105mbps down which I should be getting. Currently getting around 2mbps at max. I tried to restart it last night but wouldn't work. I tried 5 times without being able to get it to work. I have a tech coming out this sunday to take a look. I tried to direct message netcool but it seems like I have to wait 8 hours after I sign up to be able to message anyone. Is there another way to get in touch with netcool to try and get a firmware pushed to my router? Thanks. |

Besides waiting for netcool to notice your post here and PM you, this forum's moderator Sunny could PM you, and you can then respond to her PM with your modem's MAC address, and she could then, in turn, forward your info to netcool for you. |

So far, with this problem, netcool really doesn't need me in the middle. If it gets huge I'll try to help him out. For now, any member can give netcool a link to a new member post if he doesn't see it first.
Since both he and NetDog are aware of the problem, though, they might see it rather quickly if they happen to have time to be on this site. |

Ugh. Currently on SB_KOMODO-1.06.10-SCM00-NOSH. Signal levels all look within spec according to all the guides I've read. If anyone can help get me in touch with netcool or netdog, I'd be much obliged. |

Since it looks like you just registered yesterday, and you need to wait 8 hours before you can PM, are you sure that message didn't actually say that you couldn't PM until "20:15" (8:15 PM)? Thanks for letting him know. I registered lastnight knowing of the eight hour delay in Im's and to my suprise I tried it this afternoon and the date it gave the message banned from Im'd 2015 9-23 and the time I registered. Hmmm thanks for helping me get in tough with him. My 6141 is behvaing badly and I'll post the results I i get it up and running. I have certainly learned a lot since yesterday reading posts here. |
