there would be others, which ones depend on where you are getting service - what underlying incumbent network?

»teksavvy.com/en/resident ··· et/cable will show you

TekSavvy's current list is:
Huawei MT130U 1A V100R001C01B071
Motorola SB6141 7.0 1.0.6.12
Motorola SBG6580 1 3.2.1.0-GA-02-249-NOSH
Technicolor DCM475 1.0/2.3.0 STAC.02.16
Technicolor DCM475 1.1 STAC.02.16
Technicolor DCM476 2.0 STAC.02.50
Technicolor DCM476 2.1 STAC.02.50
Technicolor DCW775 1.1 STB5.01.51

Still missing a Coship model that was recently added, but you probably can't find it anyway.

NCIX seems to be aware of Rogers territory firmware requirements. Read the listing carefully, and you should be fine. For example:
»www.ncix.com/detail/thom ··· 3289.htm
Tpia Approved for Rogers and Cogeco
Tiger Direct, on the other hand, sells problematic SBG6580s. The model is of course on that list above. Unfortunately they sell hardware version 3 with an unofficial firmware version. Even if you bring the modem to me to have the firmware changed, hardware version 3 modems can't run the approved firmware.
»www.tigerdirect.ca/appli ··· atId=160
(wow, look at that outrageous price!!)

Postal code V3W 4G4.
I only have 1 option:
Thomson DCM 475

So would any of the ones Teddy listed fine?

You reside in BC which is serviced by Shaw Cable.
The list that was provided by Teddy is for Rogers Cable territory in Ontario.

If your looking at the 50 or 100mbps packages, then yes the DCM475 is the only modem Shaw will permit to be provisioned for those speeds.

However for the 25mbps or 10mbps you can use

Thomson DCM475
Motorola - SB6120
Huawei - MT130U
Hitron Technologies - CGN

Firmware version does not matter for you, as Shaw will flash the correct FW onto the modem when it is provisioned.

Aha, gotta post your location, or everybody will assume you're in the Centre of the Universe. Turns out you are actually nearer the Center of the Universe: »wallace-id.com/centeroft ··· rse.html

I can send you a SB6120 for $50 shipped, taxes included. pm if you are interested

And I guess I better stop using that joke, because there are just too many cent(r,e)(e,r)s of the universe:

Yep, I have a dozen or more left over from when they worked in Rogers territory. Definitely nice to get rid of them $50 shipped is more or less my cost.

I think Videotron officially asks for SB6120 with 1.0.6.4?! Of course I can flash to whatever firmware. Yes, just pm me whatever TekSavvy tells me you need, and I'll get one ready for you. Thanks!!
