gizmodo.com/why-you-shou ··· 81592330Curious how it might affect DSLx. I'm on network 3 Verizon suffering under their iron boot. They've gone to great lengths to push FIOS all over this city but I'm glad they haven't shut down DSL services, as directly dealing with Verizon is something I hate to do.
It took 6 verizon techs over 2 weeks to fix a bad copper line in this area that got so bad we lost phone service for multiple days. They sent 5 FIOS techs who tried to push FIOS and make excuses, then finally 1 copper line tech who found the problem in 5 mins and had me up and running again within 30 minutes.
Best anti advertising ever right there. My interest in FIOS completely crashed when they did that.
I'm all for better speeds that don't require leaving DSLx. But I'm just curious if Verizon would upgrade? Or would they shutter the old DSL services? I'd hate to see another incident like years ago where they took away FIOS from DSLx and forced customers to switch to verizon.
If not, would they upgrade all the lines? Would my 3000/768 line get a boost? Heck right now just 10-15Mbps would be nice. Friends of mine down in OC area get more than that for half the price I pay. Course they're in areas with ATT, Verizon, and many other providers all competing.
