Cox DNS from outside network?

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know if Cox's DNS is accessible from off Cox network? I understand they require connection to root, but what about users? I thought I read somewhere it's blocked now, but wanted confirmation.

Why does it matter? Its not a outrageous question, since Im pretty sure it was open before. I assume CB DNS needs to be accessible for testing reasons, so my question was/is if it the same on Residential. Could just proxy to find out, but don't feel like it.

Post a Cox DNS server IP. I'll tell you if I can use it. I've previously used a couple of them, but that was last year.

As far as I remember the customer side caching resolvers were never open to clients outside of cox ip space.. That would be bad.

I remember.... Google's Namebench app led me to try Cox's DNS servers at 68.4.16.30 and 68.4.16.25

Those are usable off Cox net.

nslookup

Address: 192.168.0.1

Default Server: ns2.oc.cox.net
