It had to be your computer. I'm no AOL fan, but I was able to do all of those things. People blame the ISP because they refuse to believe there could be a possibility they don't know what they are doing. |

| It was not the machine. I made straight A's in my microsoft classes and passed my cisco class with a C. Since I work for an ISP I have to troubleshoot WAN LAN connections all day long. |

| Really? I'm not trying to make you look dumb or anything, but AOL uses Internet explorer as it's browser, and ICQ is OWNED by AOL.
What you can do in a microsoft or cisco course really doesn't impress anyone here, especially when you're using AOL.
Yeah, they suck, but they're not blocking their own products. |

| reply to aol bites i hate to break it to ya honey, but microsoft classes mean dick in the real world for the most part. what cisco class did you take and why did you only get a C? i know more idiots with MCSE's than i'd like to think about. sad part is they're getting paid 3x what the people who really do the work get paid (many of whom either don't have a computer degree or dropped out).
not to mention the fact that anyone with any real technical knowledge wouldn't touch an AOL connection with a 10 ft pole, much less sign up for one. |

-Did you ever think to toggle the option in AOL's config that you have to toggle to use your connection with other applications ?
-In order to use netscape, some of my associates have had to toggle this AOL option. (back before they knew any better, they started with AOL) Sorry, I use a real ISP not a web page provider, so I am unfamiliar with their option menus, otherwise I would offer the location of the switch.
-I must say I have worked with some real rock heads that held MCSE certs. lol @ how truely worthless they really are.
-P.S. If you work at an ISP then why the hell were you using AOL? Is it possibly becasue you were a lot less knowledgeable then ? This would in-validate your defense that "I work for an ISP troubleshooting WAN / LAN connetions all day". You were not at that knowledge level when you used AOL. Or when you un-justly tried to assult them based on your own ignorant mistake. Don't get me wrong, AOL sucks for manr reasons like cost and ads and targeted search results.
