i would also have to say kazaalite. i used to like audiogalaxy satellite alot. but then everytime id look for a song it wasnt available for download or it was copyprotected so it cant be downloaded.

 id have to say WinMx theres no spyware and the rates are as high as 300 and up, only problem with winmx most users dont like to share or on a dailup modem, but most of the times you get a cable modem user, and some even with high upload speeds, kazaa may have alot of users which is probably the only upside but its full of spyware and mp3 rates are only 128

mIRC is still the best for a few reasons:

1) No spyware! This program was designed for chat, but not filesharing. However, there are TONS of channels serving apps, games, movies, and so on..

2) You can find almost anything! With the huge amount of channels and networks, it is hard to not walk away with something new downloaded.

3) Amazing reliability and speeds. Some channels have extremely fast XDCC bots that pump out the newest stuff at speeds as high as your cap.

So, give mIRC a chance. Remember, there are plenty of people here to help you in case you get stuck..

I find Kazaa to have the most users..HOWEVER I find WinMX to be the best because it tends to have the most users with pro-128kbps mp3s.
