I use WinMX. I have had no problem using it. I used Kazaa before it and still do every now and then, and I had no problems out of it either, except I hated all those pop up ads coming up, so thats why I use WinMX now. |

join a channel for mp3's for example I just join channel mp3
then you do a search. I was sent this file when I first started:
"1. To get music on IRC.
Type @locator part of song name in the channel to find something. Like this:
@locator Pantera
@locator clearwater grapevine
NOTE: Group or Band name is first, then the song.
Type @nick to get someone's music list *That has a + By their name or a @ by their name* Like this:
@Scirrocco84
@packygirl
Directions on how to get the song "file" will be included in the Locate response or the list. Have fun! 
2. Things NOT to do:
NO Repeating...NO Flooding... (typing in more than 2 song request at a time (Wait about 2-5secs between each song
request)) NO Spamming...NO Slapping OPs or Servers...NO ONJOINS!!! OR OFFJOINS!!! This includes Auto-welcomes
or anything...
3. IRC setup: People with @ by their name at the top of the list are OPs. Or Channel Operators. Listen to any of
their instruction.People with + by their name are VOICED. Also meaning, they are giving music out.
(SOME of the OPs serve also.)
4. When you request a song from someone, and it tells you "You are in QUE" This means a "waiting line" the computer
will automatically send it to you when a "send slot" is open. Just be patient and it will come..
LASTLY: If your looking to find out how to share music (You want to serve) you need to install a script on your
IRC. The script that most people use is at »spr.darkrealms.org Go there and get it. Instructions
will be in the .zip file on how to put it in and so forth.

I have Mirc but how do you download MP3's from it? I've heard before that it was good but I haven't been able to figure it out as I've just started using it.

15dl's and 8uploads is not a problem.The new xp in my opinion is much faster too!:)
hows 25 songs in 10min better quality mp3's than on kazza,most of the music ive gotton from kazza are cheap radio recordings,low bitrat etc.

You ever try the binaries newsgroups? Lots of music being posted there. All you need is a news server, which is provided by your ISP, or you can subscribe to one like Giganews, EasyNews, etc. You also need a news reader capable of decoding yEnc files like Xnews, Grabit, NewsRover, etc. and you'll get all the music you can handle.
Once you connect to the server, search for alt.binaries.mp3 or alt.binaries.sounds. I use Giganews for about $11 a month and my download limit is 6G/month. Speeds are also much faster than P2P programs like WinMx and Kazaa. There is also no waiting in a long queue like on WinMx. |

Don't know where you heard the 1 download thing from...when i first started using AudioGalaxy..was able to set it to 5 dl's no problem....could change it on the web interface when i started it up....
