| List of Fonts
Hey guys How's everyone? Anyway I was thinking of starting a thread mainly listing some helpful websites that are distributing downloadable fonts. This might make a great thread to bookmark for any future references, wouldn't you think? Anyway, here two to start off »www.fontmagic.com/ »www.fontfiles.com/ |

Thats where I pick up most of my fonts, and I have over 5000 archived on my system. alt.binaries.fonts is the best place to ask for font help, find a font, or to ID a font. -- You can run with the big dogs, or you can sit on the porch and bark! |

| websites?
I would if I could, cept that I was referring to newsgroups.
If you are familiar with newsgroups, then just point your newsreader to alt.binaries.fonts. I quit going to websites offering fonts right after I found this newsgroup. It really is the best way to pick up cool and new fonts. *grins* -- You can run with the big dogs, or you can sit on the porch and bark! |

| Newsgroups
Newsgroups are basically online discussion forums that are broken down by interest and are arranged by topic. These messages arrive at the newsgroup "forums" through a series of global computers that are networked; a designated computer receives the message and forwards it to another computer for storage and posting. Each newsgroup contains messages and articles that have been submitted by users and are stored on servers all over the world, creating global forums for the discussion of thousands of different topics. A special program called a newsreader is needed to access the posts on newsgroups.
News Readers
Outlook Express - Outlook Express comes bundled with MSIE 4.0 and above which can be downloaded free of charge on the Microsoft web site. This email program has integrated into its program a fully functional news reader that is simple to use and which also reads and posts HTML.
Free Agent - Easy to use and functions as an off-line reader as well.
WebReader - WebReader was the first full function Internet news reader capable of posting and reading articles containing Hypertext Markup Language (HTML). This means that readers of Usenet can, for the first time anywhere, include bold font, italics, graphics, lists and other Web constructs in their news postings without cluttering newsgroups with HTML tags.
DejaNews - Uses the WWW and your normal browser to bring newsgroups to you without having to download and use a news reader. Deja News was bought out by Google.
Hope this helps. -- You can run with the big dogs, or you can sit on the porch and bark! |

That is a good place to get fonts. Only problem is that you can't see what the font is like until your download it and people upload font series that are not public domain (i.e. whole font series from Adobe, etc), but then again that's true for all the alt.binaries NGs.
