getting SSI to run in apache

ok i've been at his all nite..

i been reading threw that.. and i still can't get

Today's date is: .!--#echo var="DATE_LOCAL" -->

to work... anyone know what i'm doing wrong ???

i have this already

AddType text/html .shtml
AddHandler server-parsed .shtml
and

yes i have mod_include.so

what else do i NEED ?

 Wish I could help you. What all functions are you using SSI for? Maybe you might be able to use another extension that will provide you the same functionality.
