How many 20 year old Rhythms managers does it take to srew in a light bulb? One to do the work and 19 to screw the other managers. Smile and lie...smile and lie...smile and lie...you will never get layed off at Rhythms. |

| Racefan you describe yourself as a rhythms employee. You are not, nor were you at the time you wrote that letter a Rhythms employee. Rhythms increased their productivity and changed their business plan. Some decisions I am sure were hard to make, some not so hard. When it came time to trim the fat, you were the most obviously fat man around. Rhythms still rocks. |

| El Duce,
Rhythms does not rock unless your a young female who will gladly sleep with or flirt with your boss to get that $50,000 65,000 a year salary. Rhythms is the most dishonest company I have ever witnessed. The customers and stockholders are getting shafted. Rhythms layed off the very people that over a year ago said Rhythms is wasting money and lying to their customers. There is hardcore violent pornography that is displayed on their computers and if someone says that it is distracting, or they don't like it, they get canned. A girl got raped inside Rhythms less then 2 months ago and the managers try to cover it up and blow it off. Rhythms is facing massive lawsuits from former employees and the SEC is looking into the way they cook their numbers. Maybe you are one of the ones that has no technical skills and a high paying salary position. Maybe you like violent porn and don't mind sleeping with or flirting with your boss to get that plum job. If that is your style then Rhythms is the perfect place for you. |

Anon | Re: Kings of Pettiness
Okay, I know of a couple of supervisors who got their jobs because of the size of their chests (it certainly wasn't because of their technical knowledge or people skills), but the rest of it is petty BS from someone who unexpectedly got to take the rest of the day off yesterday.
C'mon folks, no one likes to get laid off, and I'll probably be bitter too when it's my turn. In a perfect world layoffs wouldn't happen, but this isn't a perfect world, and the reality is that people are getting laid off in every industry in this country and not just DSL. Remember, life is just a game . . . so suck it up, grab a helmet, and get back in there. |

Was it rape charges or sexual harassment? I am sure that you need to be anon if you are going to write stuff like that... but you need to have proof to be spreading this kind of stuff too... are there any newspaper articles or anything that even hints at these being rumours? |

| Check the Rocky Mountain News or the Denver Post. The rape happened before people got canned. Rhythms has been like that for 2 years. I don't have any problem going to court on these issues. A Rhythms supervisor had a toy on his desk that depicted a alien having anal sex with a dog. It took 8 months of complaints to get that toy off his desk. That supervisor is now a DIRECTOR at Rhythms and the person that complained the loudest was axed a couple of months ago.
Rhythms is a horrible company with supervisors and managers that intimidate and scare the employees so they don't complain. The people that really care about customers and DSL are given menial jobs while the suck-ups and liers are promoted. Rhythms HR plays the game and they have no problem terminating people who question the system.
Keep in mind that management insists they had enough money and there would be no lay-offs just 3 days before they axed all those people. Rhythms is just a tournament of lies. I have emails for supervisor positions and 6 guys and 1 woman made the final round of interviews. They hired 4 young females that were not even on the final list and one male.
Managers also have told people to complete lines that they know will fail so Rhythms can make their numbers. All of this will come out in court via emails and pictures.
If your a Rhythms employee I suggest you call the Colorado Civil Rights Commission and a civil lawyer. If your a stockholder I suggest you call the SEC. |

I don't think RAPE is petty. I'm sure you want all of this to go away so you can get back to "work." The people who are suing Rhythms started to join together long before the lay-offs. |

| reply to Anon You say life is a game and lie with no shame. You say don't be bitter while standing in your own litter. You wait your turn as you watch other people burn. You say suck it up and run people over with a MACK truck. I would not want you on my team as your apathy would get us all reamed.
By the way I never got axed from Rhythms. I found greener pastures after realizing that Rhythms employees are nothing but lemmings heading off a cliff. |

I'm not trying to bash or anything .. but ... if you left for greener pastures how do you know about events that happened 3 days prior to the layoffs?
I'm just trying to keep things in the realm here... you are accusing people of some pretty serious stuff in a public forum. I would have proof handy and not just suggestions to see an article in a local paper.
You say you don't have a problem going to court and that's great. If I were you though, I wouldn't come to a public forum and state accusations like this without concrete proof that you can reproduce.
You are opening yourself up for a huge slander / defamation lawsuit here as I am quite sure the Rhythms people still employed are actively following this.
I assure you I am not an employee or affiliated with Rhythms at all. I just don't want this to get too far out of hand. Like I said, the best thing you can do if you want to keep this up would be to come up with some concrete proof. We cannot verify stories.
And people collaborating with you don't count. Everyone knows it isn't hard to make 3 or 4 accounts here. |

| As an ex-employee I can verify the waste that takes place. Big shots eat steak dinners on the stockholders very often. One guy, that I know of (I'm sure there are many more) is shipped in every week (for a three day "work" week) from San Francisco to Denver. He has his transportation (flight and rental car), housing, meals, et al paid for, in full. I know the guy, he's a complete jackass who pays no respect to those who work under him (I did work for him, but have since left) nor does he do anything except work the company dole. I doubt that any company in the world would condone rape, nor did I hear about it prior to leaving the company in November. However, nothing about the money munching V.P.s or higher would surprise me. They have concern neither for the stockholders or their employees. I wouldn't discount anything this guy said, as it may be true. How, prey tell, should this guy prove his accusations to you on a bulletin board? You want links, attachments, a newspaper stuck to your screen, 300 witnesses? The M.O. of Rhythms everyday business and distribution of knowledge was ALWAYS based on rumor ("You didn't hear it from me but..."), innuendo and lies. It's a pathetic place, run by pathetic people. |

| reply to chris The truth is not slander. I have polaroids of what was on the managers computer desk. Call the Arapahoe County Sheriffs office about the rape. Call the Civil Rights Commission and ask if they are getting a lot of complaints on Rhythms. I know of at least 60 current and former Rhythms employees who are planning on suing Rhythms. Take a look at who Rhythms promotes and who they don't. I will gladly supply emails and pictures in a court of law. All the things except the rape I witnessed first-hand. I also have a few friends who are still at Rhythms. |

What in the world??? I don't know what this poster is talking about but I am a Rhythms Field Service employee and if I was caught with pornography of ANY kind on my screen, I'd get at LEAST a written and verbal reprimand, putting me ONE step from termination. We have software which loads from the network various policies and new software and we are spywared to the hilt from what I'm told and have seen on my own system. MERE NUDITY could get me fired if it was seen. Violent pornography? What in the world is this about? Certainly not the Rhythms I work for. If they were any more uptight, to steal from Ferris Buellher(?), you could stick coal up their backsides and get diamonds. As to sleeping with the bosses, that is a VERY COMMON problem in ALL of IT. NOT just DSL. Definitely NOT just Rhythms. IT overall is still dominated by men, but by men who are classically introverts and were the ones the women didn't date at high school. They're now in charge, their libidos are overactive from disuse, and all too many women know it. Some have low self-esteem and cynically think it the only way to get ahead. Some have very high self-esteem and cynically think that they are doing the screwing in the end. Whatever the reasons on either side, IT women sleeping up the ladder is VERY COMMON. Not saying it is right, just stating that is is widespread and silently accepted not just by the men, but by the women who practice it avidly and eagerly. BTW, I've seen IT shops where the top management positions were all held by women and the single MEN had to sleep their way up the ladder and do stud service for the ladies if they wanted a raise. The women managers then would eagerly chat about who was endowed more and did better in bed, right at their cubicles where people walking by could easily hear. |
