| Astound cable west of 680
Astound trucks wired my street a few weeks ago but when I called them they would not say when service would be available. I am just west of 680 on Sunnyvale Ave near Geary Rd at N. Main St »www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?&c···state=CA
As of today, Astound's Walnut Creek map »www.astound.net/maps_cali2.htm does not show it "coming soon" here.
Does anyone west of 680 know when they'll hook us up? |

| That's a very tough question to answer. I waited for a year while I watched Astound installation in Concord. When they finally came into my neighborhood in Walnut Creek, it took about 2 months of installing until I was able to order (date set for Wednesday). The whole two months I called them like crazy asking over and over if they had a time-frame of completion.
Let me tell you, I don't think you're going to get a lot out of them, or anyone else, unless you manage to reach the CEO himself. They don't seem to like to make promises about completion dates or time-frames. |

| reply to DougInWC astound may not be able to give you a date because the work required involves other contractors and astound does not control the scheduling of those other contractors. If astound were to promise that you'd be ready to go by July 31, based on committments from all of their sub-contractors, then just one contractor gets behind the schedule and the service isn't ready until mid-August, astound would have to wear the albatross because you have no visiblity of the real perpetrator. So, it's much better marketing to give no date at all, and simply tell people "We're working on it right now. Call back again next month." |
