 | Rogers Customer ID (CRxxxxx-a) Not used ? I setup a Rogers highspeed Lan using a simple router last week and it worked great. Today it doesn't connect
Is it true that Rogers isn't using the Customer ID anymore in the HOSTNAME section ?
I had: CRxxxxx-a.phub.bloor.rogers.cable.com or something very close to that..
What should I input now ?
Thanks, Stephanie |

|
 | ok, well
what should the router's setup look like now that the hostname doesn't matter ?
Thanks again |
|
 | Can anyone confirm that the removal of the hostname is a RECENT change ? |

I mean in your setup.... |

 | When I set it up last week, all I put in the router's hostname was CRxxxxxx-a and it didn't connect. Then I put in CRxxxxx-a.phub.bloor.rogers.cable.com or something very close to that and it worked. Now it doesn't
Nothing changed in the routers configs because only I know the password.
Hope that gives u a better idea. Thanks again ! |

|
 | I'm not 100% but I think it's a Motorola.
Should that make much of a difference ?
What are your thoughts ? |

 | reply to tekker2352 I think you should ask in the Sympatico forum: Click this link --> »Bell Canada -- "That Tommy Hilfiger pose, can't block my verbal flows." - Tachichi |

 | It's a Rogers question Quadraphonic.

neeloy join:2002-03-08 North Las Vegas, NV | reply to tekker2352 well its seems like everything should be okay. What I would do would be to turn off both the modem and the router. Wait a minute, turn on the modem, wait till its fully sync'd then turn on the router and see what happens. If it doesn't work, call rogers! |

tymex join:2002-06-10 canada | reply to tekker2352 The CRxxxxx number is no longer used, the MAC address of the ethernet interface is used to assign you an IP address. You can try release the current IP you use, disconnect the computer, hook up the router, reset the modem, and see if you can acquire an IP. If not, call Rogers and tell them you have a new ethernet card and require them to clear their arp cache for you.

 | reply to rAfChOw If you mention the word 'router' they say,
"help on that subject is beyond our scope"
translation: "don't split our cable, because we can't do anything about it !"
haha :):):):):)
Thanks for the help, I'll try it tomorrow and let everyone know |
