Linksys, RIP1-RIP2. Should I enable?

small network of 3 comp at home on DSL.

wanted to know from you guys what is better. What is your current setting?

Rip 2 is better if you are using Linksys routers. Rip 2 doesn't broadcast so it will save network traffic. If you are using other routers, they might not support RIP 2. If at all possible use RIP 2

Do you have other routers in the system? If not, I wouldn't enable RIP. It shouldn't hurt but isn't needed if other routing devices are not present.

If your not doing any gnarly static routing, dynamic routing setup, dont need to touch rip1 or rip2.

DISABLED is what you need if you don't have another router on your LAN.

k thx.. i got only one router and it a Linksys router so I left it at disable
