| BEFW11S4 v.1 question.
Aloha Everyone:)
I have a Verizon ADSL with a desktop hardwired into the router and wireless connections for 1 desktop w/W98SE and 2 laptops, 1 w/ WinXP Home, and 1 w/ WinXP Pro. 1 desktop has a WUSB-11 and the laptops have WCP-11's. Recently a change occurred in that now I am unable to reach the router through My Network Places. After I upgraded to firmware 1.42.7 I ended up with a router icon in Network Places with Universal Plug and Play enabled. In another thread I was told UP&P was necessary for the router icon in Network places. For quite awhile, I had no problems reaching my setup page via that route. Now, all of a sudden, when I click on the router in My Network Places (the icon is still there) with any wireless computer, an error message pops up,"unable to reach network device, check to see if device in on the network". I checked at the Services page of the Management Console, and UP&P had converted to "disabled" for some unknown reason. I changed the setting back to "automatic". Internet access is fine, I'm able to see the other computers in the workgroup I set up, and file and printer sharing still works fine. I have reset the router and modem, toggled wireless enabled off and on, and am able to ping the router, and other computers with no problem. The only thing new I had done, I had enabled logging in my setup page reached by the hardwired desktop. Disabling it suspecting it was a problem, had no effect. Any idea's? Suggestions? Hints from all you sharp gurus out there?
Thanks in advance. |
