| reply to Anon There are some problem removals tho.....One biggie is Webhancer (comes with Crecendo and others) You must use add/remove thru control panel first or it will hose your internet connection. Another caution with removing spyware, the "free" program that it came with (like Go!Zilla) will probably stop working also. So if you really like and want to keep the program, you gotta accept the spyware. If having spyware ticks you off, then kiss the "free" program goodbye. Read this thread from early Jan, it has some great info and will help your search to learn more »Spyware? enjoy! »Spyware? -- Tamiflu (rx) works for the real flu, but $$ your HMO won't tell you and if you don't know about it to ask.... www.tamiflu.com [text was edited by author 2001-01-23 14:19:43] |

For things like webHancer and CometCursor, look for an uninstall routine associated with them. If one is available, use it before using AdAware on the remaining pieces. As Rxdoxx said, webHancer is a known problem child. Removing it forcefully has rendered more than one system unstable. If you ever find it on your machine and for some reason cannot find its uninstall routine, put a posting up and I'll get the manual equivalent of uninstall to you or anyone else needing it. |

| Also go here »Verbose instructions for restoring your registry. and use the print option in the bottom corner of the post and print out Pinan's Verbose instructions for restoring your registry, and file it somewhere. 2kmaro is great and an incredible help, but if for whatever reason, something does happen and you can't get on the internet.........so it is a good idea to have this bit of info handy. -- Tamiflu (rx) works for the real flu, but $$ your HMO won't tell you and if you don't know about it to ask.... www.tamiflu.com |
