31 Days Same PPP Session - 5660 PPPoE

This is a record for my ISP (Earthlink/Mindspring on Bellsouth copper) and for me. I can't believe that it's still going strong on the same IP/same PPP session (I do not have a static package - Dynamic only). Kudos to Efficient on the v2.3.0(7) Firmware's stability and to my ISP and the TelCo's stability so far. I used to only get 3 to 7 days on the same IP/PPPoE session before this last month. I'm really impressed. :D

My 5660 System Up Time of 38 Days is simply amazing to me.

My speeds are still stable, too. I have a DSL Receive Rate of 1472000 and a DSL Transmit Rate of 256000 provisioned by Bellsouth in Metro Atlanta.

Might as well post a line quality test result, too. That way, I can point my ISP to evidence that proves how good my line was if it ever degrades or develops severe problems.

It's now 38 Days Same PPP Session - 5660 PPPoE

Time for an Update!!! I still have the same IP and PPP session for 38 days and the Speedstream has not been rebooted in 44 Days. This is a World Record for me.

No Degradation in Speeds either.

Very nice stats Doc. I'm quite impressed.

I also have a PPP session that's been going for almost 7 days now. That's a personal record (especially with Linksys in the picture). Lookout, I'm gunnin' for ya

Sorry I don't have any stats. Using 5360, so no interface for me.

Wait, how can your PPPoE Session time be LONGER than your modem uptime... seems like your modem was connected before you even turned it on

I'm not on PPPoE. I should have mentioned that. I have PPPoA. My 5660 connects automatically for me. Also, just b/c my PPP Link Up Time is longer than my System Up Time doesn't mean anything. I took the screen cap of the System Up Time first, cropped the image, saved it, then did the PPP Link Up Time screen cap. That's why there is a 2 1/2 minute difference.

I must also admit I'm suprised at the stability of my connection. 1 day sessions were an accomplishment in the past.

Almost 8 days.
