They have the Tigers right next to the Lions....one of the tigers spent all day spying on his neighbors....
The Eagle pictured, was the first animal rescued after the Exxon Valdeez spill....shipped to my area because it was too wounded to fly and would have died in the wild.....

I've managed to get close to one of the Penguins. Though he seems a bit stand-offish. I think he may have had a rough childhood.

| I'm lucky enough to have the country's fifth oldest zoo pretty much about 100 yards up the street. I've developed quite a friendship with these two small monkeys....their heads are the size of my thumb. Difficult to photograph beacause they move so quickly...... | posted Tuesday November 12th, @03:54PM

Over 160,000 troops fought at Gettysburg, and only one Civilian died. Some died later as kids and souveneir hunters played with shells and rifiles....but only one person was killed during combat.
Jennie Wade.

As the Union soldiers retreated through the town to higher ground, a dividing line was created in the town itself. Jennie Wade, caring for her family, was accidentally shot through two doors by an unknown Confederate soldier while kneading bread for the soldiers nearby.
The door, and house, stands intact. The bullet hole on the middle right was where the fatal bullet entered.

The lake was truly beautiful....fairly long, oblong shaped. One side is very busy, the other side...not so much. 2.1 miles all the way around. Plan to go back and hit the biking trails soon....

So I've been on a nature kick lately, having lived the past 6 years in NYC. Went to a quiet lake about twenty minutes away on Saturday to try and get my ducks in a row. (Guffaw)
Hoping to get a telephoto for the G2 to capture some wild-life up close.....
Odd how the first duck was captured with its neck so straight and parallel to the water. I found that odd....
