said by PitBull: said by brawney: Update: I noticed that the longest connection they let me have is 6 hours, 55 minutes and 57 seconds.
I get disconnected at this same amount of time with SBC Yahoo.
That's 24957 seconds which is: Hex: 617D Octal: 60575

I have NO IDEA where I'm heading with this or why I considered posting it.
Where's my coffee?

| SBC Yahoo is working great for me too.
The only problem is that I can't log into their web site or set up my email. I don't plan to use the email account much, so that's no big deal. I'll probably call them and check into the website login problem, just so I can track my usage and what not. My account is obviously active, but when I try to login at their web site, it tells my login isn't right. |

You need to complete your registration to activate the Yahoo features, which includes e-mail.
You can either do this by installing the software on the CD that they sent you (or are sending you), or you can use the link several posts above in this thread from me to complete the registration.
Once this is complete, you can begin receiving your e-mail and use all of features of the service.

This is just a dial-up account, like any other. Except that it reliably works for dual channel 128kbps ISDN connections.

| I saw some reference to a type of phone call named DOV - Data Over Voice. With Verizon I have a flat rate fee of 9.1 cents per local call I make when it is a voice call. Data calls are free. I was worried that the SBC Yahoo! local access number was a DOV call, therefore I could be getting charged by Verizon for a voice call (9.1 cents) each time I dial that number.
I don't believe that is the case but I want to make sure before I abandon SI. Sounds like SI is in hard time though so it may be a good idea to abandon them regardless. |
