| VPN, RASPPOE, and Windows Me -- what gives? Hey, folks...
Running the following setup:
- Windows ME - Linksys 10/100 NIC - Zyxel DSL modem - MindSpring DSL service - RASPPOE
I'm not having a bit of trouble with my RASPPOE -- gave up Enternet 300 AND WinPoet for this little programming gem. I just wish I could get VPN to work with my DSL connection.
However, with the two encryption options (password and data) turned on in the Windows ME VPN dial-up dialogue, the system hangs. Turning off the two encryption options permits me to search for various file servers on my office network. However, I am not allowed to browse the file servers as I can with my Windows 2000 laptop.
In fact, I can reach my office VPN server using the same RASPPOE setup on a Windows 2000 machine with a 3Com PCMCIA NIC without a hitch.
Any suggestion? | |

I run Me and use VPN software, a proprietary version based on IPSec and do not have a problem..... Also run it on a W2K machine with RASPPPoE...

| Sorry I can't help you there, mine came to me via my company....
Your company should provide you with a "approved" VPN client software package....
