| Proxo is Blocking Gifs
Please help. Proxo is blocking gifs again at DSL Reports. Yes I have the bypass set for the following: www.dslreports.com/* i.dslr.net/* www.dslreports.com/login/*
But either DSL Reports has added/changed something or Proxo has decided it wants to block gifs even though it is supposed to be bypassing.
Any help much appreciated.:) (And yes I did clear IE twice and tested twice before posting.) -- Just my 2 bits. |

| Don't mean to steal your thread, but I have Norton Internet Security installed (with ad blocking turned OFF) and DSLReport .gif files are also not showing up for me.
Why would a firewall block gif files?

| reply to gt7697c As HP has suggested add the IP of i.dslr to your bypasslist. Since I have both DSLr's IP addy, and i.dslr's in my IE Lan Settings Exceptions list, and a very tight ruleset. I completely bypass both IP's and allow them only on Port 80.
The page load speed increase for me is quite exceptional. |

I wonder if I should accept cookies from 209.123.205.211, NIS 2002 prompted me today for a cookie rule.
Edit
Well.....even with adding that IP the Gifs froze again.:(
Edit 2
Yep they are froze I just cleared IE and reloaded DSLR. Gifs are still froze even with that IP. At first when I added the IP they unfroze....but they are frozen now..... -- Just my 2 bits. [text was edited by author 2002-09-19 17:32:24]

| NIS is allowing the Animated Gifs. I haven't used it to block animations in about 12 months. Also I disabled NIS and cleared IE and the Gifs were still blocked. I cleared IE again and Disabled Proxo and the Gifs weren't frozen. I cleared IE again and enabled NIS and the gifs weren't frozen. I cleared IE again and enabled Proxo and the Gifs were frozen again.
So I would think Proxo is at fault. (I have been wrong before.)
Any help?????? much appreciated. -- Just my 2 bits. |

| reply to gt7697c Hi gt7697c,
Try adding..
209.123.205.211 209.123.205.210
to your bypass list. Then reload the config.
You can check if DSLR is using other IP's to deliver the gif's by..
right click the gif -> select properties -> check the URL of the gif

| reply to BurntCricket IE 6 update....ummm....as much as I like to say I am updated and patched I have stayed away from that one. __________
Yes Proxo and Proxomitron are one in the same....no need to run out and find/try a new program. (I know you wanted to.:))
_____________
Edit
Yes I did remember to hit the save settings button. For a brief period Proxo was blocking all gif files at DSLR. It wasn't until now that they (the gif files) came back to life.:) At least for now the gifs are back to being animated. -- Just my 2 bits. [text was edited by author 2002-09-19 22:50:44] |

Just a thought - have you looked at the Proxomitron main dialog box to make sure that the "Freeze GIF animation" box is not checked? |

Yes it is/was not checked at all. For some reason Gif animation has returned and I am at a loss as to why it returned or how it returned.
_______
Nelamvr6, did you copy and paste what I had in my intro post in this thread into your bypass list?????? Did you also click on Reload Lists and clear IE and reload IE?????? -- Just my 2 bits. |
