Re: Are different DSL modems interchangeable?
said by colkeys:Generally no - different DSL providers have different ways of implementing DSL and that determines what modem a person would use. If you stay with the same DSL provider but a different ISP then you do have a good chance to use the same modem. I am switching to Speakeasy (because DSLNetworks sucks) and they both had Covad and because of that I can use the same bridge for Speakeasy that I used for DSLNetworks.
Qwest says to use only a Cisco 675 but are different brands interchangeable to the extend that I can use any kind that I want to? Would a Speedstream, Fujitsu or some other type work instead?
