Re: Computer ever so slow!

What Video Card are you using????
What drivers???
What AntiVirus Program are using???
Is it updated???
Have you considered doing a clean install of XP????
Do you have SP1 for XP???
Or do you have all the updates listed at Windows Update???
When you first noticed this problem had you downloaded any programs from the net to try out????? Did you load any new programs???

Could you go to Start+Run and Type in MSCONFIG, then go to Startup. Now get a sheet of Paper and a pen and write down everything listed, then when you post back here type in everything on that sheet of paper. Also go to Start+Settings+Control Panel. Once Control Panel loads double click the icon that says System. Click on Hardware then Device Manager. Write down everything that has a Red x or exclamation point(!) or question mark (?) beside it, and the post your findings here.

Also do the online AntiVirus Test just in case something is wrong with the one you have on the system, if you do have one on the system. Another thing you could do before you post your findings is go to Start+Run and type in CMD and the press enter. Type in "chkdsk c: /f" (without the ")and press enter, say yes to check C: on next boot. Then reboot your system. After chkdsk runs try defragging your hard drive.
