Just that the way the laws are written now, the police/FBI/other John Law can with 'due cause' (that is in quotes because many, including many cops apparently do not believe that it is truly due cause) be issued a warrant and told to go get your computer (and you too). Then with the backlog of court cases, your machine is tied up as evidence until after the trial or whatever is finished.
Thus far to the best of my knowledge this has only been done for true criminals and kid porn, but technically it can be forced if the RIAA and associates want to do it. And remember, in the US of A, money talks very loud, unless you can change that to being picked on because you are in certain minority groups.
This is from just one law enforcement source, I do not know how other areas of the country feel about this. And a good lawyer may be able to circumvent some of this. -- I am not lost, I find myself every time. |
