Oh I forgot to add - expansion of site search to include the complete forum post archive instead of just the last three months.. its kind of a pain to do. although this probably falls into "forum features and tweaks". |

| reply to justin Hmmmm a hard decision to just pick one. I voted for "site navigation" with my reference being to the search feature. I have put in keywords knowing I should get a "hit" and do not.
2) Forum features and tweaks 3) More and better tools 4) Updated layout and looks (I like variety) -- On a plaque my husband bought me My Friend If friends were like flowers, I'd pick you. |

| reply to justin A better search would definitely be my #1 feature request to beg for.
I think the post/request at »Search URL? also would be a great help.
Same goes for the request at »Forum search also searches FAQ
Figured I'd bring up those 2 posts if you happen to hit the search code. -- Have you tweaked your OOL connection? |

| reply to justin In terms of what I think would attract new users:
• ISP and service finding - People probably come in here in the first place for this. When I do a search for serice, roadrunner didn't show up, but services that I've never even heard of did.
• Home page - There's news, but I'd like more weekly type articles by members, by you, etc. I like the new weekly forums article. Weekly tips, daily things that are interesting. Something to read besides news.
• More and better tools. Love tools.
But, we'll always want forum tweaks the most! |

| reply to justin I think expansion of user reviews is the most important. Forum features and tweaks are always welcome but I believe are also secondary to the site. Also, if broadband becomes a hit overseas, perhaps the international forums should be split by region. |

| reply to justin I'd think a lot of the find service and user reviews portions of the site are hit and run, one or two time views per visitor? If that's so, other then making sure it's a good/smooth experience, would it be better to enhance the portions of the site that folks interact with on an ongoing basis? |

| reply to justin 1. New International Forums with 1 or 2 native languages. Make this a true international site.
2. Site Navigation-one or two more links under the posts for easy navigation and Static toolbar. Better search function.
3. New feature requests (some of them are actually good) -- "Where am I" I asked. "Your on the Island of Conclusions" he replied. "How did I get here?" said I. "Why you jumped here, of course" |

#1. Forum features and tweaks #2. Site Navigation #3. Updated layout and look.
Oh, and especially getting rid of stickies from constantly staying your Updated posts link. I had to add that one in there after remembering it from participating here. [text was edited by author 2002-09-23 21:57:44] |

| reply to GeekNJ It's hard to decide. I do think think it's possible to work on all those criteria. But it should be taken one step at a time. The site is as good as it is now. A lot of forum features have been provided (too much perhaps? who knows ) and with the current system of how we tweak broadband connections are excellent in my opinion. (Some element could be added to the tweak tester, but that's another story). Both the home page and user reviews are great, which played a role that got me hooked to the site. Visiting the forums later on got me more involved. Navigating through the site is pretty simple, an
From time to time though, I usually look around the site for services out of curiosity. I think the GPU chart of ISP list is cool, but I think it should be further expanded a bit if at all possible. Adding some International ISPs in the and adding a list of DCLEC's or something like that. Not to mention the prices and the types of plan being offered by such ISP's should be updated (I know the ISPs control them, likewise they do a bad job on that Maybe a tech from their company could update them? I don't think it's possible but it would be nice to have some real good info on pricing plans of ISPs and stuff). Internationality would nice too. Though we definitely traffic in that matter (and providing international language support which may be a huge hassle, chinese, japanese, spanish e.t.c.). -- ·.·´¯`·.·Meteor Dive·.·´¯`·.· [text was edited by author 2002-09-23 22:46:54] |

| reply to justin Perhaps a cleaner layout for those not registered... (Just a little!)
I have a journal here where my friends, the layout being so much, they couldn't find the next page, they didn't see it! (I write my journal daily.)
So, maybe make it easier for them?

| reply to justin My top requests:
1. Forum features and tweaks - I think the forums can stand to be a little more robust, even if it's just extra smileys and expanded ubb/html code for the time being.
2. More and better tools - The site tools are what first convinced me to register here. I think it's a very unique part of what BBR has to offer and gives a 'special' advantage over many other sites.
3. Expansion of site search - This should (maybe) help avoid duplicate posts. Heck, even I have trouble finding older threads. -- Crunch for a cure! |
