  Hi All,

Thanks jimeez!

I got this through Norton Auto Update this afternoon. I see it includes protection for the W32.Opaserv.Worm. From the looks of it, I'm guessing this is related to the Probes of port 137 a lot of us have been experiencing.
You guys and gals concur?

Also, in checking my Auto Update version, I have 1.80.19.0
I was expecting 1.5 or 1.64.3.0?

The Symantec web site has no reference to this File Version.

Anyone else have this 1.80.19.0 ?
(The file is "luall.exe")

TIA

Jack

PS; to Alwill .. Welcome to DSLReports

It most surely is. For the record: there are two Opasoft worms in the wild at the moment. We have supplied both versions to major AT/AV vendors. KAV/AVP and TDS covers both in the meanwhile; others should follow. Obviously Norton hasn't implemented the B-version in their database yet.

regards.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the info.

This 'Deadly Duo' is really running rampant. I have been recording Port 137 probes at a rate of one per minute and it seems to be worsening since its appearance on 9-27 PM.

Thanks again to ALL for their timely and informative input on this and other Security Forum threads.(And of coarse the Wilders.Org site )

Jack
