Thanks for the Heads Up. I'm hoping they fixed the resource problem in WinME. If they did, all I have to do is find the time to configure a whole new set of rules. |

Make sure to uninstall any prior versions; if you're running beta 2, be sure to say no to "remove all files from the KPF3 directory?" when it prompts at the end of uninstall. It should install, then, with your beta 2 ruleset in place. Just in case, be sure to back up C:\PROGRAM FILES\Kerio\PERSONAL FIREWALL 3\kpf.cfg (or wherever you install it, if you use a non-standard directory) to a safe location before uninstalling the old beta, and, if necessary, you should be able to salvage it by stopping the firewall service, placing your bakup in the correct directory, and restarting the computer... do NOT try to replace the file "on the fly," by overwriting it while the firewall is running; the rules in memory will overwrite the conflicting ones on disk, and you'll revert back to the default set... happy beta'ing... |

After dumping Beta2 on the same day I installed it (crashes and more crashes), I must say that this one is going very smooth on my Win98.
It just crashed once after the first reboot, but everything is going fine now. And all the new features are great!
Btw, anyone knows if this new version will continue to be free? I have a feeling that it wont. |

KPF3 Beta 3 kicks some serious ass. It's very fast, stable, and they really worked on getting most of the features working. Good job Kerio. |

Ditto tm2. The administration console is excellent. [text was edited by author 2002-10-02 08:05:57] |

I will take a bunch of screens and post them here shortly. Also, I have some good news. quote: Hi All,
we will release Beta 3 ASAP, please apologize the inconvenience concerning the expiration. KPF will remain free!

I have noticed in beta 3, in the Admin Console, under Filter rules, the headings for Application is now the first column instead of the last. Any one else notice this? |

Sir Raleigh Same here and aren't the directional arrows new too in beta 3. Anybody else having problems with column headings changing position. i.e moving application header to the end, reverts back to the front again after reloading console. Weird Graham |

Sir Raleigh,
One really nice thing about this new version is that you can move the heading columns around to where ever you want by simply clicking and holding the column you want moved and then dropping it where you want it to go. Mine is set up now so that the first column is for the check box then application and so on. Whats nice also is you can resize the columns to be smaller or larger based on your preferences.
BTW: Thank you gwion for the heads up on the new Beta 3. Its working great so far! |

Possibly a bug, when restarting the kerio service and it is unable to unload properly (displays something like unable to unload in a timely fashion) all kerio settings are lost when kerio is restarted . Lucky I made a copy of kpf.cfg . Has happened now on three occasions running win xp pro sp1. Anyone else had this problem? Graham |

You should report that to kpf_bugs@kerio.com. Just a friendly reminder to everyone: This is a beta, you will definitely run into bugs, crashes, and other problems (it might even fry your entire system ). If you choose to beta test/run the beta, you are obligated to report bugs to Kerio. [text was edited by author 2002-10-02 19:33:30] |

tm2 Hi, I understand that this is "beta" software and have sent an email to kerio about this. Just making other kerio users aware of this "possible" bug. I haven't got a problem with loosing my settings really. Its all part of the fun of beta testing Graham |

Graham,
Directional arrows aren't new in beta 3. What is new now though is red arrows and not just green ones.
Yep there does seem to be a problem with the column headers not saving there spot when you change them. The check box on mine so far being first has stayed put. All the other columns aren't saving right it doesn't look like though. |

Instead of moving the column you want to the front, try moving others away... I wanted the check boxes to be first, but when I moved it to the front the Description column always ended up first. So, I moved the Description column past the check box column and that worked... |

Can you import 2.1.4 rules yet? |

Anyone notice that you can't move the rules up and down with the Control+Arrow Up/Down keys like you could in 2.x? You can only move them using the arrow buttons on the right side of the window.
Bug? |
