No Mysql database needed.
Upload pictures to folders and it makes the thumbnails and pictures open in a popup java script window half size or full size ( have link to choose).
Have as many folders as needed just need php on the webserver to run .

I like the fact that you don't need to install anything ! Just unzip it upload the folder and drop some pictures in the two folders and it works .
You can rename the folders to what you want them to say ..
Real clean .

The site does say it handles thumbnail generation, so I would think so. Gotta love it, too.

Just upload the pictures and it will make the thumb nails for you .infact it really does not make any thumb nails but some how it shows thumb nails but if you look in the folder there is none ..

kudos:1 | If you need real thumbnails, try the gallery link I posted above. It's not as simple to install, but no more complicated than changing permissions for certain files.

Candle, I haven't uploaded anything yet. But I doubt if I will man. Looking at the code... it's way too difficult to customize to fit the design for this site I'm doing. The whole thing is PHP, and I don't know it that well yet.  It even uses PHP to write the HTML. Sorry man.

Disclaimer: I am a total newbie at web design
I installed Gallery on my fledgling site in a matter of minutes. I then customized it to blend into the rest of the site using CSS. If it was easy for me, you should be able to do this in your sleep! Most of the customization can be done in the admin area. The rest I tweaked in the style sheet.

I'd have to throw in my vote for Gallery, which Quarex and DemiGoddess recommended. Best gallery software I've ever used, and I've been through a lot of them.

I haven't customized the look and feel, I find that it does well for me. Haven't gotten through captioning everything yet, either, but there's a lot there to caption, and still lots more pics that I haven't even uploaded yet.

Oh folks. I'm almost there. I got php on my server, and I almost get the page. but it says i dont have any images in my directory, but I do. I havent changed anything in the php file or renamed any directories, so everything is as it was in the zip file. can someone assist?

hehe, sorry, I installed the andymack freescript photo album slideshow and i'm trying to work with the index.php file. i'm a complete php n00b, it's reading the images sort of. point ya browser to »www.pcdebb.com/family/slideshow/index.php and see what i mean
