Is this just the same problem as everyone else?

I am pinging around 300ms to dslreports.com tonight. Is this some kind of issue everyone else is experiencing or just me? Or just my area, Chatham?

Trace complete.

Are these problems going to be rectified any time shortly or can I expect them for a few more months or weeks? I only want to know so I can switch back to DSL in the interim. I will obviously switch back when things are fixed. I am just getting annoyed with my pings skyrocketing every once in a while. I can do with a speed 3 times slower for a bit of reliability until things get sorted out here.

Re: Is this just the same problem as everyone else

The Cogeco techs who visit the forum mentioned that the Windsor/Chatham/Tilbury area is getting slower speeds during peak periods because we're basically filling up the available "pipe" that connects us to Hamilton (the next major stop on the network). Connection upgrades for this area are reportedly going to be added some time in the next week or so.

Basic network congestion. Take two servers and call me in a week or two.

Thanks guys, appreciate all your help. So I guess the good speeds I had been getting for the last week or so were just a temporary fix. Oh well, broadband at it's worst I suppose!

Gee TXPRO I would say your problem starts even before it gets out the door.
