I have done it also in the past with mixed results. I have also used RFI filters that work fine in the NID, and others that worked only at the phone. I have also seen just a modem on the line converting RFI to audio onto the line and the filter would not work anywhere on the line with the modem attached. There is not a one fix all in these cases, and a friend of mine has a T.V. that picks up the transmission from a local tower and he had them check the levels in his yard, they ended up rotating the tower slightly....
