Re: End is near for ION/Sprint Biz DSL.

No ports are blocked with Everest service. And for about $12.95/month (I believe), you can get a static IP.

ugh
I guess you can't do much "serving" with that

do you really see 3000kbps download on that top package?

3000/1000 would be a nice little package

WAITING for Everest to even start laying cable here in Olathe

for now...my self install Speakeasy kit should be there waiting for me today

1500/384 (half the speed I got from ION, both ways

$90/month, but speakeasy gives you an xbox, fileshack service, and gaming servers for that
plus they seem to rank pretty high for service, and no latency problems, etc

so I'm saving $35/month to cut my speeds in half
yay!

That still puts me at $175/month for one phone line with caller ID and few features, 1500/384 capped broadband, and extended basic cable tv

Everest I think is $130/month for TOP package and you get extended basic cable plus some movie channels (like HBO, etc), it's digital, one phone line with all features, AND that top notch they say is 3000kbps broadband service...haven't even heard what their upload runs

anyone have Everest know?

Just recieved my reminder that they were shutting of my DSL today. Sad how over a year ago, I had expected to keep ION forever, and joked about having to check C.O. distance as part of deciding where to move.

As of Nov 26th, the time of mega-broadband is over, and we all have to wade thru the marketing let-downs with the competitors with catchy slogans like "Screaming, flaming broadband! Pure bandwidth, you get an awesome 1.5/128k (with all of your serving ports blocked, and no static IPs) for $80/mo!".

Thanks Sprint, for the fun ride.

WAITING FOR EVEREST IN SHAWNEE MISSION!!
